Can Socks Change the World?

As part of the March 2017 Cozy Reader Club box, we included these cute, cozy, polka dot socks from Mitscoots Outfitters.

You could win a pair too! See how to enter below.

Based in Austin, the clothing brand is on a mission dedicated to “giving back” to the community that built it. In 2008, the company’s founders thought of the idea for Mitscoots while volunteering on the streets. They realized, along with the basic need of food and water, the city’s homeless population was in genuine need of basic clothing items, such as socks. Now a national brand, they built their company with this in mind. Today, with every item purchased, Mitscoots gives “an equal quality item” to those in need.

But that’s not all the company does. In addition to giving, Mitscoots also employs people who are transitioning out of homelessness to help package their products. This outreach helps and motivates people to create a fresh start by acquiring skills and confidence.

In addition to socks, Mitscoots also sells men’s and women’s tees, tank tops, beanies, and scarves.

This month, be prideful in knowing that while participating in Cozy Reader Club’s subscription box, you’ve willingly helped someone in need! This is one of the many reasons we love including local and handmade items in each of our boxes.
